Argostoli - The Capital of Kefalonia
Argostoli is the Capital of the island. A bustling town with many things to do and see.
Many visitors descend on the waterfront mid morning when the fishermen are landing their catch, this is one of the best times to see the turtles of Argostoli as they elegantly glide through the clear harbour waters waiting for the fishermen to feed them.
The town has many shops, many tavernas and many places to just sit back relax drink coffee and watch the world go by. I always feel relaxed when in Argostoli, as in all of Greece the laid back Greek lifestyle is a far cry from the rat race back home. On an evening the capital is a lively place to be with many things going on and many people soaking up the atmosphere. The locals along with tourists spend time in the main square and life seems to go backwards on the speedometer. We're sure that you will enjoy Argostoli as much as we do and if you like the famous Greek Gyros, then some of the best on the island can be found here.
